Formella Travel & United Airlines
Formella Travel, specializing in corporate travel, is THE travel agency to use if you are a frequent flyer. Their comparison study of the major US airlines’ frequent flyer programs concluded that United Airlines treats their frequent flyers (those traveling 25,000 miles or more per year) the best. These frequent flyers should choose one “preferred” airline, and here are some of the reasons why Formella strongly recommends UNITED AIRLINES: 1) Better Seat Assignments – Only United offers an Economy Plus section, giving their “Premier” frequent flyers up to five additional inches of legroom – you can actually cross your legs! No other airline offers this extra legroom.
2) Best Frequent Flyer Program – United is a founding member of the Star Alliance, which includes Lufthansa, Singapore, and other major airlines worldwide. Any flight on any Star Alliance airline can earn “qualifying miles” towards Premier status with United. This isn’t always the case with other airlines’ partnerships.
3) Exchanging Tickets – Believe it or not, some airlines will not let you exchange a non-refundable, excursion ticket for a refundable ticket, but United does. This is important to know, especially if you’re making a last-minute change to the outbound portion of a ticket. With some of the major airlines, you have to buy a new, refundable round-trip ticket, and then use your non-refundable ticket towards a future trip. United is much more user-friendly.
Dave practices what he preaches; he and his wife, Christine, fly frequently, and they’ve chosen United as their “preferred” airline. Both are 1-K members, so they know everything there is to know about United, including the best seats to pre-assign, the best planes to upgrade, and how to play the “frequent flyer game”.
